Abstract
The degree to which a library’s electronic resources meet accessibility standards varies depending on the platform or publisher. E-resources that do not meet these standards are not only problematic for users with accessibility needs, but they can also leave institutions vulnerable to legal action. Fortunately, there is growing awareness among librarians and publishers about the importance of e-resource accessibility. Because of this increasing awareness, some changes in library workflows are occurring. Accessibility compliance information can be recorded in library management system records, for example. Additionally, many publishers are proactively providing accessibility statements and documentation. This presentation provided basic information about accessibility and e-resources, why accessibility is important, and what actions can be taken to improve accessibility and e-resources.
