Abstract
This review details a comparison of the Inspec database on the Engineering Village (EV) and Clarivate Analytics’ Web of Science (WOS) platforms. The content of the database on these two platforms is the same. So this review focuses on the similarities and differences in the way the database(s) are accessed, their interfaces, and their search and retrieval capabilities. This evaluation highlights the ease in navigation and use, the flexibility in catering to the skills and requirements of different levels of users, simplicity and complexity of the search interface, availability of useful help, and added features for discoverability and alerting. By providing specific examples, it highlights the benefits of accessing this database with others on the same platform.
